A mailbox alias rewrites email from one address at a domain to another address at the same domain. You may create multiple mailbox aliases as needed.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>For example: if you have the main mailbox jsmith@example.invalid, you can have mailbox aliases of j.smith@example.invalid and johnsmith@example.invalid, then any mail directed to johnsmith@example.invalid will use logging, quarantine, and filtering settings of the primary mailbox, jsmith@example.invalid<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>If <b>Direct delivery for email and domain aliases<\/b> is enabled in <b>Incoming <\/b>&gt;<b> Domain Settings<\/b>, then the final delivery of the message will be made to the original version of the address. Otherwise, the delivery will be to the primary mailbox.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kb.zerospam.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/mailbox-alias-tab.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-27431\" src=\"https:\/\/kb.zerospam.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/mailbox-alias-tab-1024x687.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"687\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In the <b>Mailbox alias<\/b> tab, you can do the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Add, edit and remove aliases<\/li>\n<li>Catch all mail to a domain and direct it to a single address<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Add a mailbox alias<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li value=\"1\">In the Admin or Domain Level Control Panel, select <b>General <\/b>&gt;<b> Mailbox Configuration<\/b><\/li>\n<li value=\"2\">Open the <b>Mailbox aliases<\/b> tab<\/li>\n<li value=\"3\">Click on <b>+ Add alias<\/b> to open the <b>Add alias<\/b> dialog<\/li>\n<li value=\"4\">At Admin Level the <b>Domain<\/b> field is displayed. Start typing to find the domain to which you want to add the alias<\/li>\n<li value=\"5\">In the <b>Mailbox<\/b> field, enter the email address without the domain part e.g. if the mailbox address is john.smith@example.invalid, enter &#8216;john.smith&#8217;<\/li>\n<li value=\"6\">In the <b>Alias<\/b> field enter the alias email address without the domain part e.g. for j.smith@example.invalid, enter &#8216;j.smith&#8217;<\/li>\n<li value=\"7\">Click <b>Save<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Catch all mail and direct to a single address<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li value=\"1\">In the <b>Mailbox<\/b> field enter the address to which you want all mail sent<\/li>\n<li value=\"2\">In the <b>Alias<\/b> field enter *<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"info\">The only wildcard you can enter in the <b>Alias<\/b> field is a single &#8216;*&#8217;. For example if you enter &#8216;user*&#8217;, this applies to the address user@example.invalid and NOT all addresses starting with &#8216;user&#8217;.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<ol>\n<li value=\"3\">Click <b>Save<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<blockquote><p>Only a single rewrite is possible.
