To search for specific mailboxes, use the <b>Query Rules<\/b> panel to refine your search and click on <b>Show Results<\/b> to display matching results.<\/p>\n<h2>Add mailbox<\/h2>\n<p>You can add multiple mailboxes at once by using the <b>Import mailboxes from CSV<\/b> feature on this page. You may export mailboxes as well by using the <b>Export mailboxes as CSV<\/b> feature here too.<\/p>\n<p>If you have <b>Automatically populate the list with mailboxes determined as valid by the destination mailserver&#8230;<\/b> enabled, mailboxes will be detected and configured automatically but you may want to add and customise the behaviour of specific mailboxes.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Please be aware that you <i>cannot<\/i> use non US-ASCII characters in the local part of a mailbox.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>To do this follow these steps:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li value=\"1\">Click on <b>+ Add mailbox<\/b><\/li>\n<li value=\"2\">Enter the <b>Mailbox<\/b> name (email address local part) &#8211; If you are at the Admin level also select the domain. If you are at the domain level, this will be automatically selected<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<blockquote>\n<p class=\"nugget\">The following settings are optional<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<ol>\n<li value=\"3\">Select a <b>Timezone<\/b> &#8211; Using recommended settings here will use settings from the <a href=\"https:\/\/kb.zerospam.eu\/en\/docs\/configuration-tab\/\">Configuration Tab<\/a><\/li>\n<li value=\"4\">Choose an appropriate <b>Date format<\/b> &#8211; Using recommended settings here will use settings from the <a href=\"https:\/\/kb.zerospam.eu\/en\/docs\/configuration-tab\/\">Configuration Tab<\/a><\/li>\n<li value=\"5\">Choose an appropriate <b>Time format<\/b> &#8211; Using recommended settings here will use settings from the <a href=\"https:\/\/kb.zerospam.eu\/en\/docs\/configuration-tab\/\">Configuration Tab<\/a><\/li>\n<li value=\"6\">Select whether this mailbox should be <b>Filtered<\/b> for incoming mail &#8211; Using recommended settings here will use settings from the <a href=\"https:\/\/kb.zerospam.eu\/en\/docs\/configuration-tab\/\">Configuration Tab<\/a><\/li>\n<li value=\"7\">Select whether this mailbox should be <b>Archived<\/b><\/li>\n<li value=\"8\">Select whether this mailbox should have <b>Automatic Email Scout Reports<\/b> enabled<\/li>\n<li value=\"9\">Advise if this mailbox is a <b>Distribution List<\/b> &#8211; These mailboxes are not expected to send mail directly and so messages with a distribution list address as a sender may be blocked<\/li>\n<li value=\"10\">Set if the mailbox should <b>disregard all legitimate email without a rejection response<\/b> &#8211; This setting allows for no-reply@ style mailboxes, where all mail should be accepted but will not be read, and so will be immediately discarded<\/li>\n<li value=\"11\">Advise if this mailbox is a <b>Shared Mailbox<\/b> &#8211; A shared mailbox is a mailbox that multiple users can use to read and send email messages<\/li>\n<li value=\"12\"><b>Save<\/b> the mailbox &#8211; you will now see the mailbox added to the list for the domain<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Sub-Addressing\/Plus-Addressing<\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"mc-variable General.ProductName variable\">Zerospam.eu<\/span> supports <b>sub-addressing<\/b>, often called <b>plus-addressing<\/b>, which allows the addition of a &#8216;tag&#8217; on a mailbox by use of a &#8216;+&#8217; as the separating character. Such addresses <strong>should not<\/strong> be added to the mailboxes list, so long as the primary mailbox is.<\/p>\n<p>For example: for the primary mailbox jim.pickens@domain.invalid, sub-addresses such as jim.pickens+newsletters@domain.invalid, or jim.pickens+sales@domain.invalid can also be used.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Delivery of mail at the destination server will be done to the full sub-address, so the tag may be used for sorting mail in the inbox.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>Sub-Addressing is different from <a href=\"https:\/\/kb.zerospam.eu\/en\/docs\/mailboxes-alias-tab\/\">mailbox aliases<\/a> in that mail is not rewritten from one address to another. Mail is logged, archived and quarantined within <span class=\"mc-variable General.ProductName variable\">Zerospam.eu<\/span> under the primary mailbox name and this primary mailbox is what will appear in usage calculations.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2 id=\"edit-one-or-multiple-mailboxes\" data-mc-conditions=\"General.NotQSG\">Edit one or multiple mailboxes<\/h2>\n<blockquote><p>If a mailbox was added used <span class=\"mc-variable General.Microsoft_365 variable\">Microsoft 365<\/span> Sync, some settings <i>cannot<\/i> be edited.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<ol data-mc-conditions=\"General.NotQSG\">\n<li value=\"1\">For a single mailbox &#8211; Alongside the mailbox you want to edit, click on the dropdown menu and select <b>Edit<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>For multiple mailboxes &#8211;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Place a tick in the checkbox alongside the mailboxes you want to edit<\/li>\n<li>At the top and bottom of the results open the <b>Apply to selected<\/b> dropdown<\/li>\n<li>Select <b>Edit<\/b><\/li>\n<li>Click <b>Apply<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <b>Edit mailbox<\/b> or <b>Edit multiple mailboxes<\/b> dialog is displayed.<\/p>\n<p>If editing a single mailbox, the mailbox address is displayed.<\/p>\n<ol data-mc-conditions=\"General.NotQSG\">\n<li value=\"2\">You may change the following settings:\n<ul>\n<li><b>Timezone<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Date format<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Time format<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Filtered<\/b> (incoming) &#8211; If you disable this, filtering on the selected mailboxes is switched off. Effectively the recipients are <span class=\"mc-variable General.Allow_list variable\">Allow list<\/span>ed. See <a href=\"#switch-off-filtering-for-specific-mailbox\">Switch off Filtering for Specific Mailbox (Allow list recipients)<\/a><b><\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Archiving enabled<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Automatic Email Scout Report Activation<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Distribution list<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Discard all email without rejection response<\/b><\/li>\n<li><b>Shared Mailbox<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol data-mc-conditions=\"General.NotQSG\">\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><\/li>\n<li value=\"3\">Click <b>Apply<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2 data-mc-conditions=\"General.NotQSG\">Remove one or multiple mailboxes<\/h2>\n<ol data-mc-conditions=\"General.NotQSG\">\n<li value=\"1\">For a single mailbox &#8211; Alongside the mailbox you want to remove, click on the dropdown menu and select <b>Remove<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>For multiple mailboxes &#8211;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Place a tick in the checkbox alongside the mailboxes you want to remove<\/li>\n<li>At the top and bottom of the results open the <b>Apply to selected<\/b> dropdown<\/li>\n<li>Select <b>Remove<\/b><\/li>\n<li>Click <b>Apply<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol data-mc-conditions=\"General.NotQSG\">\n<li value=\"2\"><b>Confirm mailbox(es) removal<\/b> in the dialog that is displayed with a list of mailboxes selected<\/li>\n<li value=\"3\">Click <b>Remove<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<blockquote><p>Mailboxes <b>cannot<\/b> be undeleted. If you have deleted the mailbox, it cannot be restored so you must add it as a new mailbox and set up all configuration again.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2 id=\"switch-off-filtering-for-specific-mailbox\">Switch off Filtering for Specific Mailbox (<span class=\"mc-variable General.Allow_list variable\">Allow list<\/span> recipients)<\/h2>\n<p>You can choose to <span class=\"mc-variable General.Allow_list variable\">Allow list<\/span> a recipient by switching off incoming filtering on that mailbox.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li value=\"1\">At Domain Level, select <b>General <\/b>&gt;<b> Mailboxes Configuration<\/b><\/li>\n<li value=\"2\">Click to open the <b>Mailboxes<\/b> tab and use the <b>Query Rules<\/b> panel to search for the relevant mailbox<\/li>\n<li value=\"3\">Click <b>Show Results<\/b> to see all matching results<\/li>\n<li value=\"4\">Click on the dropdown to the left of the mailbox and select <b>Edit<\/b> to open the <b>Edit mailbox<\/b> dialog<\/li>\n<li value=\"5\">Expand the <b>Filtered (Incoming)<\/b> panel and select <b>No<\/b><\/li>\n<li value=\"6\">Click <b>Save<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Convert Mailbox to Mailbox Alias<\/h2>\n<p>Converting a mailbox to a mailbox alias is an action that might be required for a number of reasons, the main one being if an employee leaves the customer and all their mail should now be redirected to another mailbox. Converting a mailbox into an alias can be done by:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li value=\"1\">Find the mailbox you want to make into a mailbox alias from the <b>Mailboxes<\/b> list<\/li>\n<li value=\"2\">Click on the dropdown menu and select <b>Convert mailbox to alias<\/b><\/li>\n<li value=\"3\">Ensure the correct domain is selected from the <b>Domain<\/b> dropdown<\/li>\n<li value=\"4\">Enter the mailbox name the alias should be attached to in the <b>Mailbox<\/b> box<\/li>\n<li value=\"5\">Ensure the correct mailbox to convert is in the <b>Alias<\/b> field<\/li>\n<li value=\"6\">Click <b>Save<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the General section of the menu, select Mailboxes Overview\/Configuration, then the Mailboxes tab.
